A 12% position can be a quarter of your risk.
Position size and risk are not the same thing. Openbook measures how much each holding actually contributes to the portfolio's movement, so the name quietly driving your results is not the one you assumed.
- See each holding's share of risk next to its share of your money.
- Measured from up to 180 shared return observations, not from sector labels.
- A real correlation matrix over your twelve largest positions.
Four ways in, none of them a spreadsheet.
Connect Trading 212 for a read-only sync of positions, cash and real dividend payments; upload a broker CSV; photograph your broker app and let Openbook read the positions; or type them in. Portfolios carry their platform and wrapper, so an ISA and a SIPP stay separate.
- Trading 212 keys are read-only and encrypted server-side. Openbook never trades.
- The CSV wizard has per-broker guides and understands sells.
- UK and US holdings live together in one portfolio.
Move from the portfolio to the reason why.
Every holding carries the same Reward and Risk score the screener uses, so a US chipmaker and a London bank are comparable on one scale. Open any of them to see the four factors behind the number.
- Compare every holding through the same framework, UK or US.
- See the score drivers rather than an unexplained rating.
- ETF holdings get an X-ray through to the companies underneath.
See it on a real portfolio.
The demo portfolio is live and fully scored — holdings, performance, risk and dividends. No account, no import, nothing to set up.
Portfolio tracking, explained.
UK and US-listed holdings in one portfolio, across seven tabs: Overview, Holdings, Performance, Diversification, Dividends, Reward and Risk. That covers return against a benchmark, drawdown and volatility, sector, industry and country allocation, a correlation matrix over your largest positions, estimated and received dividend income, and the Openbook Reward and Risk score on every position. Portfolios record their platform and wrapper, so an ISA, a SIPP and a general account stay separate.
Yes — Trading 212 can be connected directly with a read-only API key, which syncs your positions, cash and real dividend payments. The key is encrypted server-side, Invest and Stocks ISA accounts use separate keys, and Openbook can never place a trade. The connection is still in beta. You can also upload a broker CSV, import from a screenshot of your broker app, or enter positions by hand.
A spreadsheet records positions. Openbook adds daily market data, benchmark-relative performance, real correlation between your holdings rather than a guess from sector labels, dividend timing and coverage, and a consistent Reward and Risk score on every holding — then links each one through to the research that explains the number.
A free account gives you one portfolio of up to ten holdings, with your headline scores and the Dividends tab included. Pro adds up to ten portfolios, the deeper analytics — risk drivers, performance attribution, factor exposure and the full Reward and Risk breakdown — and the AI Briefs. See the pricing page for the current comparison.
Not always. Annualised return is a dated XIRR, so it needs at least a year of history and a complete record of money paid in and taken out. Broker and CSV imports do not currently supply that full cash-flow ledger, so most imported portfolios show it as unavailable rather than showing a figure that would be wrong.
No. Openbook provides analytics and research to support your own decisions. It does not give personalised investment advice and it does not execute trades. For information only. Not investment advice. Capital at risk.
